Have you ever had that situation; you’re watching a movie in the living room with the light dimmed. Suddenly, your roommate walks in and turns the light bright because he needs to study. Wouldn’t it be great if everybody in the room would be able to adjust the light matching their own preferences?
Systema Luz is the solution. Each light in the room can be individually controlled and set by turning the rings. You have the option to choose up to 4 settings at a time. Each light can then be easily controlled and set to your preferred setting. You can even make your own light groups to allow for easy setting switching. This product allows everybody to have maximum control over the lights in a room.
Systema Luz. Give it a spin and turn the lights around!
My Role
I was the secondary interviewer during the user interviews, observing the participants' behaviors and taking down all the notes. I raised supplementary questions when I noticed interesting behaviors from the users. After the interviews, my colleagues and I analyzed the user results together.

The Challenge
The product that FF.ai provided to Beeline Georgia had been online for over one year, but no user tests were carried out during the design process. We proposed many times to our management, and we finally had a chance to gather user insights with real users. The tests were done with 2 pilot users and 8 real users. The test consisted of three parts: Introduction & warm up, testing with implemented product, and testing with a prototype.
The Process
Aim of The Study
The goal of the study was to talk with real users, understand their usage behaviours in the daily life, and test the product and a prototype to iterate designs.
Preparation
We firstly prepared a protocol as a guide for the interview, planed the questions which need to be asked at the onset of the interview, how to frame the questions that are meant to gauge the experiences in detail, and how to conclude the interview.
Later, two pilot tests are conducted among friends and colleagues, so we ensured the interview with the real users will go smoothly.
Lastly, we hired and selected 8 participants at UpWork.
Interviewing Process
We introduced the aim of the study and had a chitchat with participants to get their basic information, then we asked about the overall experience they had with Beeline Georgia.
Furthermore, we asked if they have seen or used our products and allow them to start interacting with the product. Certain tasks were given to them, this let us understand the usability of the product.
In the third part, we used a prototype to test a certain scenario, in this case, no balance in their phone account. We wanted to know what they would do when encountered this scenario.
During the entire process, we kept reminding the participants to think out loud, so that we can understand the reason they did certain actions.
Results and Analysis
During the interviews, we recorded the screens and made notes about the entire process, so we could easily review points that were worth noticing. I discussed with my colleagues about the insights from the 8 interviews. A report and a presentation were made to communicate the results and action points to other colleagues in the company.
The insights from the interviews were valuable and gave us proofs of evidence to make design decisions and accelerated the development of the product in the business level.
